game on! c'mon united!

Blackburn 1 (Santa Cruz, 21)
Man Utd 1 (Tevez ,88)

Last night was a disappointing one for Manchester United, but my expectations that it would be a very hard and physical game at Ewood Park proved right. United got their second consecutive draw on the road after the draw at The Riverside. They managed to labour themselves out of the trap in the same manner as they did against Middlesbrough, when Rooney scored late, albeit this time, it is much, much later..

Carlos Tevez scored with 2 minutes left on the clock, to at least save a point, after a mix-up by Ferdinand and Vidic in the penalty area when handling Pedersen's long throw led to Roque Santa Cruz scoring in the 21st minute. It was a vital point won, rather than 2 points lost, ahead of their crunch visit to Stamford Bridge next weekend, which is a win-or-bust match for both Manchester United and Chelsea in terms of their title aspirations.

The faces of the goalscorer, Tevez and his team-mates showed it all, the importance of the point, as the team was lacklustre throughout, especially in the 1st half; Ferdinand and Vidic weren't too composed, old heads Giggsy and Scholesy were looking 'old' at times, Ronaldo was kept quiet, Brown's efforts were strewn with errors, only Evra, Rooney and Tevez were at least looked above the others.

The next 2 weeks will be vital for Manchester United. The 2 legged semi-final matches against Barcelona looming, with Battle at the Bridge in between, with 9 points to play in the Premier League, and a trip to Moscow at stake, it's squeaky bum time for Ferguson and his troops.
